I'm so impressed by your cross training and discipline. That is great that you can run to your gym.

I credit weight lifting to keeping me (relatively ) injury-free ... I ditched it entirely until I landed in physical therapy for a hip injury two years ago. Now, I honestly feel like when I don't do my single-leg leg presses, my legs are less stable and achy. It's weird. In any case, the Body Pump class sounds like a great one!

i've been trying to do some weight training the past couple weeks - been good about 2x week, but not sure if i'm doing enough.

was talking to neighbor who's a faster runner than me. she had been doing body pump (and 1x week w/trainer) and she thinks that's what helped her get faster. so it's interesting to hear that someone at your gym also thinks that body pump/weights will help w/speed.

That is SO freakin' cool that you run to the gym and then back home after your workout. Awesome. Crazy how there's such a difference between 6:00 and 7:00 !!! I need to add more weights - maybe this weekend....hmmmm...

Great job girl!

Strength training is very important, but it is also difficult to fit into my routine. More so than running.

Excellent training! Sounds heavy, but you did stick with it.

That is very impressive that you find new ways to challenge yourself.

I hate lifting weights. Maybe a class like that would be a good thing for me to try.

Keep it up!
