Help My Daughter Raise Money to Fight Arthritis!!
My daughter and I will be participating in the 2009 Arthritis Walk here in Austin. We will be walking as part of Team Ashley. Ashley is one of my daughter’s little friends. She has juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and she is a little trooper. Many days she is in so much pain she can not walk, she is also frequently at the doctor’s office but she always has a smile on her face and I’ve never heard her complain once. She really is a little ray of sunshine and so we will be out there walking to support her in her endeavor to raise funds and awareness to fight arthritis.
Before meeting Ashley I did not know that children could have arthritis. But it is actually common. Nearly 300,000 children in the United States have some sort of arthritis. Arthritis can be short-term — lasting for just a few weeks or months, then going away forever — or it can be chronic and last for months or years. In rare cases, it can last a lifetime.
The Arthritis Walk and Let’s Move Together team together as a nationwide movement led by the Arthritis Foundation that encourages people to move to prevent or treat arthritis. Walking just 30 minutes a day can make a big difference. If you would like to help us reach our fundraising goal you can visit us here any contribution is welcome and will help. Thanks in advance for any donations.
