• About Me

  • Running has brought great joy to my life. I use this blog to log my running experiences and maybe even inspire a few people to get out there and run. If a turtle like me who couldn't run for more than two minutes without feeling like I was at death's door can run, anybody can.

Today, I ran with Runnrgrl and we had a blast.   Honestly I was a little nervous because  I am quite shy and she is a much faster runner than I am.  The run started off a little late because I was waiting in the lobby at the wrong hotel.  I will blame my husband, we saw the right one but then we drove around and thought the hotel I went in was the backside of the same hotel, but we were sorely mistaken.  I guess runnrgrl and I  both realized that I was waiting at the wrong hotel at the same time because as I was running to were she was staying,  she was running towards me.  So we met up in between, it was quite funny.  Then we started our run going towards were I thought the Town Lake Trail was.  I have run on this trail a couple of times with my husband and walked on it as well, but only certain portions  and we always park right by the trail so there was no finding the trail involved.  I was such a horrible guide, but at least she got a good tour of the city.    We eventually found the trail though and the usual crowd was out running town lake.   Conversation was comfortable and she kept me at a good pace.  Towards the end I was feeling some pain and slowing down but she did not make me feel like a turtle.  I’m sure she could have gone much faster but she stayed with me.  Both of us turned our Garmins off for part of the run, but I think we ran over 11 miles.  I loved meeting and running with Runnrgrl she is an awesome runner and person.
