• About Me

  • Running has brought great joy to my life. I use this blog to log my running experiences and maybe even inspire a few people to get out there and run. If a turtle like me who couldn't run for more than two minutes without feeling like I was at death's door can run, anybody can.

  • Hips Okay, Hurray!!

So I gave in and went to the doc.  He checked me out.  Everything is okay, no major problems, my hips are a little tight/stiff and my adductors are weak.  So he gave me some strength exercises to do and also some stretches.  He told me to take 2 advil with every meal for the next 10 days as well.  When I asked if I should lay of running he said I could keep running just keep my mileage low for a bit.  So of course even though I said I wasn’t going to, I ran 3 miles yesterday.  I don’t know if the stretches are helping or if it is just the higher amounts of ibuprofen but it felt good.  I did 2 before spin and 1 after.  I am relieved that it is nothing major.  Looks like I just need to stop neglecting my stretching and strength training.  I guess we will see after 10 days have passed  and I stop taking the ibuprofen.   Either way I am relieved it is not a stress fracture and I can start my marathon training in July.
