• About Me

  • Running has brought great joy to my life. I use this blog to log my running experiences and maybe even inspire a few people to get out there and run. If a turtle like me who couldn't run for more than two minutes without feeling like I was at death's door can run, anybody can.

  • My Favorite Running Pants

When I started working out I wore any old thing.  And then I realized that some clothes were just not meant to be sweated in, so I began wearing moisture wicking fabrics.  My husband even gave me some under armour clothes for my birthday, which I love by the way.  And these all helped with the sweat issue.  But while I was training for my half marathon I developed another problem.  First my knees started hurting, and then I had inner thigh/hip pain, which I think was an IT band problem.  I iced and stretched and that helped a little.  But I had to back off my mileage a little and slow down, which I hated.  The thing that really made it comfortable for me to train comfortably again was amazingly a pair of pants(CW-X Women’s Stabilyx Tights) I initially saw these pants in Runner’s World Magazine and wondered if they would help at all and they really did.  They were a little expensive, but worth it. I always wear them on long runs and have not had the same trouble with my knees and hip.  I am sure that part of it is my own body adjusting to the running, and the stretching and icing I do, but I love the extra support my pants give me.

    1. It is great to hear that these pants have helped. Should my ITB persist, I will certainly consider investing in a pair.

      Thanks for the tip!
