New Sneaks for Long Runs and Good Pace Workout
I love my Women’s Brooks Running Shoes | Brooks Axiom 3 they are a nice stability sneaker and they fit my foot and running style perfectly. My only problem with them is that they are lightweight and don’t really offer enough shock absorbtion and cushioning for long runs. So I went in search of a new pair of sneakers and figured I would continue to wear my Brooks for short runs and races. I read the reviews and decided on the ASICS Women’s Kayano 15 Running Shoes, as long as they felt good on my feet. Doubts filled my head though, because I previously owned a pair of the Asics Womens Gel-Kayano 14 Running Shoes and I thought they were really heavy and my ankles hurt if I did not lace the top eyelet and got blisters if I did. Part of the problem I think was that they were half a size to big, so my foot moved around to much in them. When I tried on the 15s and ran around the store in them they lighter than the 14s (which they are) and more supportive around the ankle ( which may be due to the assymetrical lacing). I bought them and tried them out on my 8 mile run today. The extra cushioning felt good on the concrete trail and no blisters or ankle problems. Yay! The real test will be my 16 mile long run on Saturday.
This is the what they look like.
My run was very different today. I ran a one mile warm up to the gym on the trail, did my intervals on the treadmill, then ran back on the trail and 2 miles in the neighborhood. The variety was nice, but made my run feel really long.
Did well on my speed intervals. 8 min/mile pace on the mile long intervals, and 7:30 min/mile on the 400 meter ones. I guess I haven’t lost any speed after all. Woo hoo! I am slow on the hills, but I am working on that and am certain my hard work will pay off. Four miles easy tomorrow, my favorite distance, just enough to get those endorphins flowing but not enough to exhaust me.

I am looking at the same shoes right now!
My current ASICS (2140s) are breaking down and while I haven’t been totally happy with them, the Kayano 15s seem to fit my foot well and provide lots of comfort and support.
Thanks for the review!
sexy shoes!
great first time out. hope they hold up! as you know i love mine. now we’re sole sistahs! ok, that’s bad but funny. got to have fun!
Oh, I miss my Asics! I ran in those all through college.
Good job on the workout. I agree, I like 4 miles, too. It’s not too short, but you’re not out there forever.
I wore the 14s until the 15s came out and now I am on my second pair of 15s – I LOVE THEM!!! hope you like them too
