• About Me

  • Running has brought great joy to my life. I use this blog to log my running experiences and maybe even inspire a few people to get out there and run. If a turtle like me who couldn't run for more than two minutes without feeling like I was at death's door can run, anybody can.

  • Running and Fitness Goals for 2009

I wanted to make a list of my running and fitness goals for 2009:

    • Lose 6 more pounds.  I met my original weight loss goal but I am not at  my ideal weight.  I may actually have to buckle down and keep track of my calories for this time.  I love running and exercising but I hate counting everything that goes in my mouth. I am hoping that losing the weight will help increase my speed as well.
    • Run the Zooma Austin half marathon.  This is described as a challenging course, as opposed to the 3M that is described as an easy course, so even though it is not a new distance, it is a new challenge.  I will need to do more hill training than I did for the 3M.
    • Run at least one race every two  months over the course of the rest of the year.
    • Run a marathon this fall.  Tentatively the Philly Marathon.
    • Make sure I include strength training in my work out schedule. Other than when I am in my final month of Marathon training, I would like to do strength training three times a week.
    • Improve my running speed.

Slow and steady still finishes the race
