The Kids Keep Surprising Me

Once again I changed my running schedule up a little.  I was supposed to run 10 but only ran 5 and walked 2.  We went out to the new part of the trail again, we took the kids the long way this time.  I was surprised by how much the kids wanted to run.  img_6732My daughter ran for a total of 3 miles, in 1 mile intervals with some walk breaks in between.  I thought she was only going to run 1, but each time I said I was going to run while they continued walking she said she wanted to come with.  She kept an awesome pace.  I was really surprised.   She really enjoyed running with me and that it was easier for her to run when we ran together, because I was an encouragement.  I love that!  She wants to try doing a 5k race with me  so I need to find a good one to do together.

My son ran over a mile with my husband, he was so cute, he kept saying, “I can do it, I can img_6806do it”.   The funny thing is we were not pushing them, they kept asking to run instead of walking.

I did manage together in a couple extra miles  of running  while they played at the playground.   The kids walked/ran  over 4 miles today, I was both impressed and surprised. Best of all it was fun and we had a great time together.

  1. That is so cool! I think it’s great that kids see their parents run (and enjoy it).
It’s great that they might enjoy it the rest of their lives.
