Time to begin training for the Zooma Austin Half Marathon
Well the Zooma Half Marathon in Austin on April 4 is just around the corner, so I need to start my training. Here is a little bit about the race. ZOOMA is a new national women’s race series that takes running and celebrating to the extreme. ZOOMA half marathon and 5k races are followed by a fabulous post-race party with mini spa treatments, music, wine, shopping and more! I think it sounds like fun and am looking forward to participating in it.
Ever since the 3M half marathon I have been just running whatever I felt like running, however I wanted to run it. But now it is time to buckle down and get my training organized. I used the Silver half marathon training from The Complete Book of Running for Women for my last half and I am using it again. It really worked well, I increased my speed and endurance without injury. I am going to replace some of the stride workouts with hills, since this half will have more hills than my last one. As far as my time goal, I would like to at come in under 2 hours, the course is described as challenging so I don’t know if I will be able to beat my time for the 3M. My plan is to stick with the program and do my best on race day.

Good luck! That sounds like fun! I wonder if they do one of those in our area? I’ll have to look into that.
It looks like they are planning one in Atlanta, but they have not set a date yet. http://www.zoomarun.com/
