@Glenn most of my runs, including the marathon pace one feel easy/conversational. Maybe because it is not really an ambitious goal. The only time I am usually breathless is during speed work (tempos/intervals) or occasionally going up hills. I appreciate your advise though and will make sure I keep most of them easy.

Nice week!

I agree with you - marathon training is really more about the journey than the destination. It takes a great deal of mental and physical strength to make it through the weeks and mles. For me, the marathon is more like my rewar for putting up with the training.

Now one word of caution - as I read this blog, I notced that you are doing a *lot* of your runs at race pace. Be careful! Too much running at too fast a pace *will* result in overuse injuries. You should be running one (or at max 2) runs a week at race pace or faster. The rest of the time you just want to put in the miles at an easy/conversational pace. Last thing you want to do is get njured before the big day!

Marathon training sure does have its ups and downs, mentally and physically.
