A Little “Thank You” to my Virtual Running Pals
Just a little blog post to say” thanks” to my twitter running buddies and blog followers. You guys are great. I don’t currently belong to a running group ( I joined one but they disbanded last week, never got to run with them) and I don’t have real life running friends. So my virtual running friends have really meant a lot to me over the last few months. You guys offer great advice, motivation, encouragement, and inspiration. Your comments give me a boost when I am feeling a little discouraged about my running, and help me keep believing in myself. Not to mention all the amazing things you do yourselves. When I read about your fast runs, long distances, and great race results; I start to believe that I to can achieve those things as well, as long as I work hard and stick with it.
I may have been a bit discouraged yesterday but I am not in any way ready to give up. My realization that I am not as fast as my nike + said I was has made me work harder over the past few weeks to “regain my speed”. Some of my runs have been disappointing , but some have been awesome. So I will be mentally be holding on to those good workouts/all my hard work and physically be pushing myself to my limits to meet my goal on race day. And I will have a great time celebrating my victory

Good luck. You’ll do fine. Yeah, my virtual running pals helped me in my marathon. Have fun.
Although I’m a new running friend, I understand how important it is to have friends – IRL or virtual – to help with whatever you’re accomplishing, in this case, running. As I have yet to decide on my wants & goals after my half, I thoroughly enjoy reading about what others are doing with their runs and workouts – it makes me think I can possibly do XYZ, too!.
Meanwhile – glad to see that the garmin/nike+ incident didn’t set you back too much! You will do great in your race…and I can tell you’re fired up to keep up with the speed/intervals work!!! Yeah!
I totally agree with you on this post! Glad you are not giving up and you will be celebrating your victory soon!
