• About Me

  • Running has brought great joy to my life. I use this blog to log my running experiences and maybe even inspire a few people to get out there and run. If a turtle like me who couldn't run for more than two minutes without feeling like I was at death's door can run, anybody can.

  • When Did My Husband Get So Fast

Ran with my husband again today and was I ever surprised.  Shocked that I could run at my normal speed again and  that my husband didn’t have a hard time keeping up,  in fact he was setting the pace for the last 2 miles.  We started off a little slow and picked it up a little after a half mile average pace 9:03 min/mile.  I felt so good after the first mile I said we should try a tempo mile for the second, he kept up with me no problem, average pace 8:12 min/mile.  Then we slowed back down third mile 9:03 and fourth mile 8:56.  I probably would have gone a little slower if I was  alone but I was happy with the run overall.  He has been running at the gym and has really improved.  I told him if he keeps it up, I’ll be the one throwing up to keep up with his pace.   We stretched and then I ran the 3 miles home.   Stopping and then starting  again I felt the tightness and pain in my adductor and hip.  I picked up the pace a little and it went away.  My  solo miles were slower but I was ok with that, average pace for my last 3 miles  10:13 min/mile.  It was a great morning to run nice and cool.  The trail was just beautiful this morning with all the wildflowers blooming and the animals scampering about, so glad I got to go out and run today :)

    1. It sounds like your husband is getting the hang of this running thing! That is good news.

    2. ha ha too funny! :) Glad that you had a great run, it sounds beautiful where you are running, I am a bit jealous :) PS I gave you a little shout out on my blog today!

    3. Great news that your hip is okay and that the Ibuprofen is helping.

    4. I’m glad you had a great run! I bet your husband was fit to be tied keeping up with you today! :)

    5. Ha! Isn’t it so like the guys to lose weight faster and run faster and easier than us, even if we’ve been at it for longer. What fun that he is running with you. My husband runs with me but I’m still faster than him. I know that if i didn’t run, he wouldn’t either. I think he just does it to do something with me :)
